Sassicaia is undoubtedly one of the most famous Italian wines in the world. It comes from a vineyard of 75 hectares particularly suited, with limestone formations and a high stony content, a particularity from which the toponym “sassicaia” probably derives. The land is exposed to the south-west. Fermentation takes place in steel, at a controlled temperature, with maceration on the skins for about 10 days. The aging of Tenuta San Guido's Bolgheri Sassicaia DOC takes place in French oak barrels for 24 months, with subsequent passage in the bottle.
The color is intense ruby red. The scent is rich in red fruits. The taste is powerful, concentrated, very thick, with soft tannins and balanced body. In the mouth it is rich with a long finish. A wine made to last, a masterpiece to be preserved for many more years.
To pair with red meat and game.
