From cappelletti to roast lamb: the Christmas menu from the Angelini family

Italy’s culinary tradition is more than a match for that of any other country in the world, and this is especially true during the Christmas season.

From Trentino-Alto Adige to Sicily, each region boasts typical dishes, such as the Valle d’Aosta carbonade, Abruzzo roast lamb or Calabrian turdilli, which are prepared especially for Christmas Eve or December 25th.

Indeed, as Virginia Woolf said, “one cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well”, especially at Christmas! This is why the Angelini family prepares a menu with full respect for tradition. And for quality as well.

After some fantastic mixed hors d’oeuvres, the more demanding courses will arrive, such as the cappelletti in capon broth, followed by roast lamb with potatoes.

To accompany each dish, ça va sans dire, there are red wines selected especially for the purpose, to enhance the flavor and aromas of both pasta and meat.

When celebrating with the Angelini family, moreover, the Christmas lunch cannot end without the Moscato Saracco tasted together with the unmissable Fiasconaro panettone or the torrone.

…What else could brighten up the holiday celebrations even more? A soundtrack by Andrea Bocelli or Elvis Presley, a favourite of Roberto, Daniela, Irene and Luca during December.

And that’s not the end of the celebrations: on Christmas Eve, before the exchange of gifts, at Enoteca Properzio it is the custom to play a raffle game, obviously while tasting excellent wine and spirits!
