Wine cellar of the month: Tili

Tili is a synonym for quality, passion and experience in the wine sector—where it fears no competition. It is not by chance that this month’s wine cellar is this pearl from the Italian region of Umbria.

The company’s wine-making tradition finds its roots in a distant past, so much so that “we do not know what the founder of the family, Tili, encountered when he arrived among these hills from Northern Europe, following Redbeard in 1200”. What is known is that from that moment on, “the Tilis have cultivated this rocky land with love to reap the best products, such as wine and olive oil.”

Tili: discovering quality

Among the best wines that you do not want to miss out on, is the 1997 Sacreterre in its 3-liter format. This 100% Sangiovese boasts a unique aroma of honey and vanilla that is accompanied by a dry, warm, and velvety taste. It is the ideal wine for special occasions.

Among the marvelous bottles produced by this Umbrian company, Enoteca Properzio’s selection proposes a 100% Pinot Noir of rare intensity: The Pinot Noir bio Tili 2015, 0.75-liter bottle (sold in numbered bottles). Why should you try this wine? Because it is the perfect choice to enjoy on a daily basis, throughout the year, and because its pomegranate red color encompasses the unforgettable nuance of black fruit.

For those who love Merlot, you cannot look over this masterpiece… It might be because of its unison of intense minerals or because of its strong aftertaste, but Etrusco Merlot Tili 2016 is the best option for lamb and grilled red meat.

Another bottle that encompasses the mastery of Tili is Gaudium, which was born from the perfect unison of Grechetto and Semillon. It is a meditation wine, that can also be enjoyed alongside delicate desserts.
