March top wines

March means spring: that moment of the year when days get longer, air gets warmer and some senses – in particular, taste and smell – are hit by scents, smells and lively and flavoured tastes. Our March top wines, therefore, are for those productions which mirror and represent 100% rebirth, blossoming and discovery.

Nadel Poderi Morini: To start the selection made by Enoteca Properzio, there’s a red wine from Emilia-Romagna that releases right from the first sip a delicate scent of spices together with a well-structured and fruity taste. Thanks to its tannins, which are particularly elegant and refined, it can go extremely well with seasoned cheese or meat dishes.

Pinot nero Andrea Formilli Fendi: Pure Umbrian celebration of a production which is 100% Pinot Noir. It is a red wine of lively and brilliant colour, unmistakable not only on the nose, but also on the palate. The perfect pairing is with red and game meat.

Sagrantino di Montefalco Cerrette Paolo Bea: An exceptional Umbrian wine, large and full-bodied, to taste fully and enjoyably thanks to its notes of vanilla and dry figs and plums.

Spinning Beauty di Arnaldo Caprai: Among the few productions that can present and offer an exceptional tradition of passion and professionalism. Maybe, it’s for the aging in durmast barrique, or maybe because it takes inspiration from wines of long refining process, but the Spinning Beauty distinguish itself without doubts for its charm and personality.

Pecorino d’Abruzzo Emidio Pepe: Fresh on the nose and rich on the palate, besides being the ideal choice to accompany a fish menu: this wine results delicate and balanced. A harmony that you can notice also from the flawless balance between sapidity and acidity.
