Dark ruby color, intense and balsamic vinegar. The nose hints of fruit jam, licorice, eucalyptus, camphor, flint. Sweet and juicy in the mouth with a sharp acidity. This is Bricco dell'Uccellone by Braida
Bricco dell'Uccellone by Braida: from nickname to great wine
Bricco dell'Uccellone by Braida
is made of 100% Barbera grapes, which come from North-West of Italy, where it's originally located, so Piedmont origin. Braida is the nickname for Giuseppe Bologna: He was the founder of this company that is located in the north part of Piedmont. Now his sons and wife, both enologists, take care of the brand. The wine's color is definitely a ruby red tending to garnet in some senses. If you look at the arches, you can see they flow down very slowly, which means this wine has a high content of glycerine/glycerol in this case. As far as the smell of this wine goes: you will easily feel a toasted-like oak, a little touch of ripe raspberries and cherries and a touch of mint mixed with liquorice.
A taste of Piedmont with Bricco dell'Uccellone by Braida
Now let's get to the taste of Bricco dell'Uccellone by Braida
: pretty lingering with soft tannins, that's why I would recommend this Barbera more for every day, but obviously, with class, it's not a regular Barbera. As said, soft tannins, as anticipated, with a good balance in the mouth and a good body. We recommend this wine especially with lamb and as first course, some pasta. Bricco dell'Uccellone by Braida
isn't a regular and simple Barbera, but something out of the lines: a high quality Barbera created by Giacomo Bologna, that made this grape famous all over the world.
