The famous Montevertine estate, which stands on the Chianti hills in the municipality of Radda in Chianti, was purchased in 1967 by Sergio Manetti. Sergio had initially purchased the estate to renovate it and make it his holiday home, planting a few hectares of vineyard to produce wine for himself and his loved ones. The first wine was produced and marketed in 1971 and received flattering praise. Enthusiastic about the success achieved, Sergio Manetti decided to dedicate himself exclusively to the production of quality wines, planting new vineyards and setting up new cellars.
The color is a dark ruby ​​red, with a notable brightness. The bouquet is round, with hints ranging from myrtle to wet rock with a finish ranging from raspberry to rose to close with liquorice.
An excellent red wine, ideal with pasta with sauces such as ragù, red meats and game.
