The vine of the month: Sagrantino of Montefalco

The Sagrantino of Montefalco is officially the vine of the month. Here’s a careful selection of the unmissable bottles.

Carapace Sagrantino of Montefalco Tenuta Lunelli 2015 0.75 lt.: powerful and yet soft, intense and harmonious, this pure Sagrantino captivates at 360°. The perfect pairing would be with wild boar, but any red meat is always a good accompaniment.

Sagrantino of Montefalco 25 years Caprai 2015 0.75 lt.: among the best collector’s wines from Umbria, this 100% Sagrantino stands out with elegance and refinement. Its scent creates harmonious notes of mature fruits, while the taste is velvety and soft even with a remarkable persistence.

Sagrantino of Montefalco Chiusa of Pannone Antonelli 2015 0.75 lt.: those who love the Sagrantino of Montefalco – and not only – cannot miss this bottle. With a red ruby colour, fruity scents with balsamic hints and a rich and persistent taste, it is perfect to pair it with red meats or game.

Sagrantino of Montefalco Cerrete Paolo Bea 2010 0.75 lt.: a collector’s wine that you will love from the first sip. A wonderful bottle that encapsulates all the flavours, fragrances and tradition of its land, Umbria. To the mouth it is dry and full-bodied, with enveloping flavours of vanilla, accompanied by figs blackberries and prunes.

Sagrantino of Montefalco Colle Grimaldesco Tabarrini 2015 0.75 lt.: on the nose, the first scents of this wine, which has a strong minerality, are those of spices and blackberry. A dynamic and elegant red wine, that not by chance was awarded 94 points by Robert Parker, able to enhance any course, especially if game or first courses.
