Discovering the grape of the month…

Famous for its ruby red colour, as well as its intense aroma and strong structure, Sangiovese distinguishes itself by its well-defined notes, capable of making each bottle a true work of art. This month’s creations come from Umbria, Tuscany and are all made from 100% Sangiovese grapes.

Sangiovese Mullin Estate Wines 2016 0.75 lt.: from the beginning of the tasting scents of both dark chocolate and plum can be appreciated, perfectly balanced with hints of tobacco. The taste is persistent, also on account of the round and intense tannins. Recommended paired with mature cheeses, or red meats and game.

Brunello di Montalcino il Marroneto 2016 0.75 lt.: a Tuscan collector’s wine, a Sangiovese 100% awarded by both Gambero Rosso and Duemila Vini, a bottle with fruity notes that stands out for its spicy finish. Perfect for meat dishes, excellent with any course!

Brunello di Montalcino Pian delle Vigne Antinori 2015 0.75 lt.: the ruby red colour foreshadows the olfactory perception when tasted: cherry and raspberry, in harmony with hints of tobacco, cocoa and coffee. Elegant and decisive tannins, which give an equally intense finish.

Chianti Classico Fontodi 2018 0.75 lt.: the delicacy of violets and the refinement of the spices result in a highly enjoyable creation. With its savouriness, this bottle is an excellent match for first and second courses of meat.

Chianti Nipozzano Riserva Marchesi De’ Frescobaldi 2017 0.75 lt.: a floral, warm, balanced, fresh and persistent red wine. The result of a skilful combination of refined scents – such as dog rose, cherry and morello cherry – this wine does never prove excessive, on the contrary, it is appreciated for its balanced and enveloping structure.
