Let’s introduce you a great wine: Barolo Monfortino.
The company was founded at the beginning of the 20th century and the very first bottle of Monfortino was released in 1924: they produce both Barbera and Barolo from the area of Serralunga and Monforte.
They make Barbera and Barolo plus Barolo Reserve, the famous Monfortino, and Cascina Francia.
In this case we’re talking about a 100% Nebbiolo grapes concerning Monfortino: the wine ages in a big oak barrel from Austria as the tradition of Piedmont and Barolo makers want.
If we analyze this beautiful wine in the glass, we can notice a beautiful and alive ruby red color. Let’s smell the bouquet: you can easily find licorice, leather and in particular some hints of vinegar.
As far as the taste goes you will easily find very fine tannins, still beautiful and elegant; that’s why we recommend this type of wine with red meat in general and as a first course of truffle, a typical Piedmont tradition.
