Which organic wine to choose? Enoteca Properzio’s proposals

Where to find and how to choose an organic wine with a unique and unmistakable taste? Red, white or rosé, Enoteca Properzio has labels for every occasion and for all tastes.

Whether for a first course, a meat menu, seafood dinner or an aperitif, on this online wine shop every bottle has its own history and technical data sheet with characteristics and particularities to guide and orientate you towards the best and most suitable choice, depending on your requirements.

Examples include Essenzia Caiarossa 2012 and Radikon Merlot Collio 2002. The first is one of the best known Syrah wines, with spicy notes of ripe fruit, such as plum and blackberry, and has an excellent complexity with a lot of sweet flavors of toasted oak. The latter is of a bright red color and its aromas, in particular are characterized by berries and chocolate.

When it comes to organic wines, one cannot fail to mention the famous Piedmont label: Barolo Prunotto 2019 from the Viglione estate, with its ruby reflections and a scent of flowers and spices, as well as mature cherries and prunes.

Another not to be missed label is definitely Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Emidio Pepe 2014. Its aromas of vanilla and banana, accompanied by red fruits and tobacco, make it an organic wine balanced with delicate tannins, even though they are particularly defined.

What is exactly meant by organic wine?

fine white wines

When choosing a good quality wine, very often we do not pay attention to the wording related to sulphites.

An organic wine is a wine with a particularly low percentage of sulphites - therefore with very few added preservatives - at most 10 mg / L of sulfites.

What are sulphites and what effects do they have on humans?

These are chemicals, which must by law be indicated on the label. They are added to the winemaking process to regulate fermentation and coloring.

Sulphites, generally found more in whites (in particular sweet wines) than in reds, also serve to improve the organoleptic factor and to conserve wine over the years, and thus to emphasize the characteristics of the product.

If taken in large doses they can cause headaches or even allergies.
