The history of this wine cellar begins in the mid 1800s, in Ribera del Duero, following the obstinacy of the Spanish-born enologist Don Eloy Lacanda y Chaves. Vega Sicilia is born between Valbuena and Quintanilla, an area in the central-northern part of the Iberian Peninsula.
